Multifrax
Frequently asked questions about the Multifrax non-ablative fractional laser and clinical use.
What is Multifrax?
Multifrax is a unique non-ablative fractional laser on the market, combining the simultaneous emission of a Thulium laser (1927nm wavelength) and an Erbium Glass laser (1550nm wavelength) in a single shot. Its military-grade technology offers precision in multi-layer skin treatment under strict safety standards, in an intuitive and portable design.
What are Multifrax's indications and benefits?
Multifrax's innovative technology effectively treats:
- Fine wrinkles and expression lines (facial rejuvenation)
- Pigmentation disorders: sun damage, melasma, and dyschromias
- Acne and hypertrophic scars
- Enlarged pores and irregular texture
- Active acne
- Skin laxity
Multifrax treats a wide range of dermo-aesthetic conditions across all skin types, with progressive and natural results, as it induces skin neocollagenesis. As a non-invasive, non-ablative procedure, it is a fast treatment (15 to 30 minutes depending on the indication) that does not disrupt daily life and is well tolerated by most patients. All treatments must be performed following a prior medical assessment.
How many Multifrax sessions are usually recommended?
During the medical assessment, a personalised plan is established based on the patient's diagnosis, phototype, and medical history. For most treatments, a minimum of 3 sessions is required to ensure proper collagen synthesis and optimal results.
Does Multifrax require downtime?
While each patient may experience a different recovery response, most patients present redness (erythema) and mild inflammation in the treated area immediately after the session. These effects can last from a few hours up to 1 day. It is important to maintain proper skin hydration and avoid sun exposure.
